This is the basic Infantry help section for FAQs that do not have a section made yet, or for FAQs that are all to themselves.
| How do I get to play Infantry? | 10/15/1999 |
| | This is very simple.. on the left side of your screen (you may have to scroll up), there is a link to go to a Downloads -infantry zone. Click on that, then download the file for infantry. Once you finish downloading it, open it up and then go to the Sign-Up button in the game to create an account name. |
| What do I need to run Infantry? | 10/22/1999 |
| If you can run subspace, you can run Infantry. Specifications are about:
133mhz Pentium
2 MB graphics card
16 Ram (16 is BARE BONES minimum, 32 is minimum,
64 is recommended)
Internet Connection of 28.8 or higher (56.6 recommended)
16-bit color is recommended for gameplay, but you can get by with 256 (doesn't look as good, but still works)
And obviously, a keyboard. Mouse, surprisingly isn't needed, but is helpful.
The above is, the absolute minimum. A good graphics card can make a HUGE difference though, so don't dispair if you have the above, and a 16mb V3 2000 :)

| How many aliases am I allowed to register? | 10/24/1999 |
| | You are allowed 10 aliases per account. |
| Infantry's speed suffers on my computer. How can I improve it? | 10/24/1999 |
| First off, see how low of a resolution you can stand to play. Then, try these options:
Fake Alpha blending: Yes
View Line of sight (Los): Never
View Line of sight Blended: No
Obscuring Wall display: Alpha-blended
Font Resolution: Set everything to the smallest size you can read
Tweak around :)

| How do I make, edit, and load my macros? | 7/5/1999 |
| To make a macro, type your message, and without hitting enter, hold down shift and press any of the f(x) keys. The f(x) keys, are of course, the f1 through f12 keys. The message should dissapear and a message stating 'The message is stored, press again to display' or something to that effect. Simply press the same shift and f(x) key combination again to display the macros. Keep in mind that if you go to the main screen, under keyboard configuration you can check an options that allows distinction between the left and right shift keys. To save your macros into a specific file, type ?savemacro filename
Where filename is any name you specify. To load a macroset, type ?loadmacro filename
To edit them in a word processor, you need to find the macro files. Go to your Infantry directory and find the name of your macro set. It should have .mac extension at the end. If you haven't saved a macro set before, it should be default.mac
If you can't find any such file, go to the window's find file, and search for *.mac in the infantry directory. This file can be opened in Note/Wordpad and the first line on top would be f1, and going down, f2, f3, and so on. After 12 lines, you will revert to the right shift (If the option in the keyboard config is on). You can somewhat organize your macros this way, you can make copies of the file, rename it, then edit it.
You can proceed to load it up using ?loadmacro nameoffile
Keep in mind that the font in Infantry is different, so ascii art will have to be done within Infantry.
