These faqs are for help with the gameplay.

How do I play the game, now that I have it?10/23/1999
Start up infantry after you've unzipped it. You'll see two buttons, 'Start' and 'Signup'.

If you haven't signed up for a username yet, either click the button that is labeled "Sign up" or go Signup Here

After you signup, click 'start' and click the big button that says 'Refresh Zone List'. Any new zones that have been constructed will appear. Pick one to join (I recommend Beta zone, Alpha zone doesn't have much to do).

Click on the 'Beta Test' and click 'Enter zone'. The game will download any files you don't have. If it does, the game will probably restart itself. Go back and join again.

    I'm in Beta zone...How do I get started?10/23/1999
First, make sure you are in spectator mode. If you see a player with your name by it, press f12 to enter spectator mode.

Now press 'Esc' then using your mouse/keyboard, select 'game functions' then 'skills' and select the class you want. Press 'buy' and hit escape again to leave the screen. Press f12 again, and you'll be in the game

    How do/Why can't I fire my weapon?10/23/1999
First, press f2 to switch between the Player window and the inventory window. When it's selected, two blue bars will be around the window.

Right click on the weapon, or item and a list of numbers with keys will show up. Select one of the numbers. The key(s) that were next to the number you selected will fire the gun, or use the item.

If you cannot use your weapon/item, you are either unqualified to (The items will be shaded out), the gun is still charging (you'll know because a 'load' sign appear next to it) or you are out of ammo. Many guns require ammo to use, and ammo is show as white text in your ammo box. Make sure you have the right kind, and enough ammo.

How do I pick up things? How about dropping things?10/24/1999
To pick something up, aim your crosshair at it. You can be somewhat far away, as long as the object lights up where you aim at it. Press spacebar once to choose some 'Picking Up' options. If you want to pick up everything there, press space again.

If you only want a certain amount, press the appropriate key that comes up.

To drop things, right click on your inventory, and you can choose to drop it. If you right click on ammo, you can choose how much you drop.

How do I zoom in and out?10/24/1999
    By default, Shift+Home zooms foward, Shift+End "Un-zooms"

What the heck are those Tylon Crystals for?10/24/1999
They will automatically pick up when you look at them. They are worth One cash (dollar?) each.

How do I use my psionic power?10/24/1999
You need psionic crystals. Look in the store (Press f10) under 'ammo' and buy some of them.

What ammo does weapon xxxxx use?10/27/1999
Never heard of weapon xxxxx, but right click on it in the inventory, and select 'info'

One of the things it lists is 'ammo type'

It'll tell you. Then buy it from the store, under ammo.

    Why can't I move?10/27/1999
If you can't move in infantry (you can turn, but can't go forward or backwards), then you are too heavy for your guy. On the right side menu, you will see near your guy's Energy and Health a number like 28.3 kg or 67.92 kg. After that number you will see a %. If it is 0%, then you have full movement, and your guys is not slowed down. If it is at 1% or higher, your guy is slowed down by that %. So if it gets to 100%, you can't move until you drop some weight.

If you bring your mouse over that wieght, it will tell you your guy's max weight before you start slowing down, and also next to all your weapons, it will have how much weight it is adding to your guys.

NOTE: Those items you can't drop have NO weight. They are always there, and neither hurt you nor help you with weight.

Aren't there any rotation upgrades? Especially for ball related games?1/15/1999
Unlike Subspace, you can pretty much set your own rotation rate. Press escape, go to 'Options' and 'Miscellaneous Options' and select the 'Rotation Ramp Up' and set it to what you want. The lower it is, the faster you rotate.

Setting it to 0 is not going to make you spin like Michelle Kwan, but you'll be able to '360' pretty quickly.
